American healthcare is broken. Ellen Gott, Certified Physician Assistant, was forced to leave full-time work as a hospitalist due to development of a rare, aggressive autoimmune condition called Behcet's vasculitis. Conventional treatment avenues failed her, leading her to pursue outpatient Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE), the first step to getting her life back.
After years of little progress trying various immune suppresant medications, Ellen sought support from an experienced Functional Nutrition practitioner, Aubree Steen (FNTP). Through dietary changes, targeted, lab-based supplementation, and TPE, Ellen was able to get her life back. Aubree and Ellen gained further education on application of TPE, a treatment that has been safely performed in the U.S. for many medical conditions for decades. The problem? Hospitals and insurance won't perform TPE for many groups who may benefit from it, even if treatment guidelines suggest this option. These groups include certain autoimmune conditions, toxic burden and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's Disease, long COVID, PANDAS, and longevity/anti-aging pursuits. Aubree and Ellen have partnered to provide nutritionally supported TPE in a setting you can trust with practitioners who have been on both sides of the patient/provider role in America. TPE isn't a magic bullet but it can put your body in an optimized situation to heal. We look forward to helping you on your journey.
Meet Your PA
Ellen Gott worked in the high-pressure setting of adult hospital medicine for years, caring for some of the sickest patients at a large university health system. Like many healthcare workers in America, she was disillusioned with the for-profit "sick-care" system but did not see solutions aside from providing high-quality, compassionate patient care within a broken machine. It took developing a rare, aggressive autoimmune condition (Behcet's vasculitis) for Ellen to start seeking supplemental education in lifestyle, functional, and integrative therapies, including Therapeutic Plasma Exchange. In Ellen's case, TPE was considered a recommended treatment by international organizations, but insurance would not cover it for her. She sought out private TPE and it changed her life, kick-starting a passion for providing this modality to others in conjuction with an experienced Functional Medicine Nutritional practitioner, Aubree Steen (FNTP).

“Do they actually understand me and what I’m going through?”
This question came up over and over again throughout the course of Aubree Steen's grueling health journey. After working with pediatric patients and autoimmune adults her entire career, Aubree realized her entire childhood/teenage years was suffering from undiagnosed toxic mold exposure, PANDAS, OCD, autoimmunity, and severe nervous system dysregulation. Like the majority of patients and clients Aubree has helped over the years, she was thrown into the medical merry-go-round. She consistently came across providers who tried to treat symptoms with pharmaceuticals, missed the root causes of why she was sick, and led her into consistent dead ends, unable to actually empathize with me or understand what I was going through. None of them actually understood what it was like to be chronically ill or autoimmune, or what it felt like to truly suffer in the way Aubree did as a patient. Why would they fight for an answer, if they never experienced what it was like to be in these shoes? Aubree has been helping complex patients acheive healing for nearly two decades. In the course of her ongoing education, Therapeutic Plasma Exchange became more of an interest for those with severe autoimmunity, mold toxicity, and other toxicities. Aubree's role sets PlasmaWell apart from other TPE practices where a conventional prescriber may try to support your nutrition through TPE without the targeted experience to do so effectively. Aubree will be here every step of the way to ensure your body is optimized to respond well to TPE so it can heal itself.
